Práce na FAQ odstartovali někdy v roce 1993 jako způsob poskytování informací náhodným zájemcům o vědomosti v oblasti masožravých rostlin a speciálně pro nováčky, kteří se zapíší do různých diskusních fór (u nás např. http://forum.masozravky.org/). V jeho prvních několika verzích byl FAQ tak malý, že to byla pouhá jediná webová stránka! S každou novou verzí FAQ rostl až se stal tak velkou, nenasytnou potvorou, že dnes zabírá více než 700 stran
Při svém originálním zrození nebyl FAQ zamýšlen jako formální dokument. Ačkoliv jsem vždy chtěl, aby byl tak vědecky obsáhlý, jak je to jen možné. Takže pro vaše použití a další výzkum jsem připojil reference do spodní části každé stránky FAQ.
Použil jsem tři typy referencí ve FAQ, které mohou vypadat jinak, než je zvykem při normálních citacích autorů. Typy jsou následující:
Personal observation: Něco, co jsem sám během let zjistil.
Reader contribution: Od čtenářů FAQ, obvykle jsou identifikováni křestním jménem a prvním písmenem příjmení.
Other sources: Zdroje, které nemohu potvrdit, ale věřím, že jsou důvěryhodné.
